About the opportunity
Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Altrad is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the team on an 8:6 roster from Perth, supporting a major structural remediation project based in Geraldton. In this role, you will bring your proven ability to deliver complex projects, underpinned by strong commercial acumen across time and materials contracts. As a key member of the leadership team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, driving project success through collaborative stakeholder engagement, clear direction, and confident, outcomes‐focused leadership.
Responsibilities
* Lead the analysis and reporting of project performance metrics, driving initiatives to optimize productivity and outcomes across all project phases.
* Ensure full compliance with contract requirements by allocating and managing adequate resources to sustain strong project performance within budget throughout the project lifetime.
* Maintain strategic oversight to prioritize project activities and resource distribution, ensuring alignment with financial forecasts and budget targets.
* Collaborate with internal and client stakeholders to develop and implement project strategies that align with the company's broader business objectives.
* Identify, evaluate, and advance new opportunities for project improvement, presenting actionable proposals for approval and execution.
* Oversee the management of external contractors and suppliers, ensuring their engagement, performance, and deliverables meet quality standards and contractual obligations.
About you
* Proven track record of successfully managing commercially complex projects exceeding $100 million, coupled with strong stakeholder management skills.
* Proven commercial acumen, effectively managing scope change, contract variations, and mitigating financial risks.
* Experienced in managing brownfields remediation projects, meeting tight deadlines, mitigating critical path delays and achieving the desired level of productivity.
* Skilled in stakeholder engagement and client management, building collaborative and productive relationships.
* Responsible, adaptable, and an effective communicator across all organizational levels.
* In-depth knowledge of construction management practices, standards, systems, and processes specific to structural remediation within the heavy industry.
* Deep understanding of industry best practices and their practical application to successful project delivery.
* Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of managing and developing high‐performing teams.
