Middlemount Coal Pty Ltd is an incorporated joint venture between Yancoal Australia and Peabody PCI Australia. The mine produces approximately 4.0 million tonnes of medium-volatile pulverized coal injection (PCI) coal and semi-hard coking coal for the export market.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated CHPP (Coal Handling & Preparation Plant) Manager to lead the operations of our coal processing facilities. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is accountable for the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of the CHPP, ensuring coal quality and tonnage targets are consistently achieved.
This is a key leadership position, responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining compliance with legislation, and leading a high-performing team in a critical part of our mining operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and direction across all CHPP operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and productivity.
* Manage and mentor a team of supervisors, operators, and maintenance personnel.
* Oversee plant maintenance, reliability, and availability to meet production targets.
* Ensure compliance with the Coal Mining Safety and Health act and site safety systems, and environmental obligations.
* Deliver against budget targets, driving cost optimisation without compromising quality or safety.
* Monitor coal preparation processes to maximise recovery and quality in line with customer specifications.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives, plant upgrades, and process optimisation projects.
* Collaborate with mine operations, logistics, engineering, and senior leadership to align CHPP performance with overall business goals.
About You
