Job Description
Join SGS as a Laboratory Technician and build your career with a global leader in testing and certification. Based at Perth Airport (Mon–Fri, 10am–6pm), you'll conduct soil, water, and air analysis, ensuring accurate and timely results in a fast-paced lab environment. This full-time, permanent role offers great opportunities to develop your skills and contribute to vital environmental testing.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Undertake routine preparations and analysis of soil and water samples.
* Ensure equipment and laboratory is kept clean to avoid contamination.
* Assist with data validation for technical reports (on the assigned tests trained as a validator).
* Carry out scheduled instrument calibration and maintenance in accordance with written procedures.
* Assist in receiving, unpacking and registering samples received.
* Assist in the disposal of samples as required.
* Understand and adapt general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements.
* Ensure that safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) is used correctly and when necessary.
* Perform other duties as directed by your Supervisor.
* Maintain and update skills, qualifications and knowledge through internal, external and on-the-job training/courses to support continuous development and improvement.
Qualifications
What You'll Need to Succeed:
* Hold a TAFE or tertiary qualification in Chemistry .
* Have working experience in a laboratory environment (preferably an environmental laboratory).
* Be flexible with working hours and tasks (Monday to Friday afternoon shift 10am–6pm ).
