In this Role, you’ll
As a School Crossing Supervisor, you’ll play an important role in keeping children, families and local motorists safe each day. You’ll become a trusted and familiar presence within the school community, supporting students to cross safely and contributing to a positive and secure environment.
Transport for NSW is currently recruiting for schools across the Greater Sydney metropolitan area, including (but not limited to):
* Auburn
* Blacktown
* Camden
* Canterbury/ Bankstown
* Cumberland Council
* Hurstville
* Inner West LGA
* Liverpool
* Lindfield
* Mascot
* North Bondi
* Northern Beaches
* Penrith
* Pymble
* The Hills LGA
* Woollahra Council
For Permanent Part-Time roles – shifts fall between the school zone hours of 8.00am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, with 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. School Crossings require 20 hours of supervising per fortnight. You will receive an hourly rate along with superannuation, and you will also be compensated during school holidays from Terms 1 to 3.
For Casual positions – shifts fall between the school zones hours 8.00am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4.00pm, with a minimum of one hour shift as and when required Monday to Friday during the school term. You will receive an hourly rate along with superannuation
About you
You’d get a kick out of making community relationships, keeping kids safe whilst earning a weekly wage for doing something you love and enjoy.
You're reliable and prepared to show up for your community - in good or bad weather.
You’ll display effective communication skills and be alert to potential dangers.
Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment. All training, uniforms and equipment will be provided. And one more thing! As you’ll be working with children on our roads, your willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and a Health Assessment is vital. Don’t worry if you haven’t done this before, we will help you through the process! If you already have a Working with Children Check, that’s fantastic as that will speed up the process.
