Join our dynamic Northern Territory's Fisheries team and lead with purpose to shape the future of fisheries and aquaculture in the Northern Territory.
Fisheries NT delivers evidence-based management of fish stocks and the sustainable development of fishing, aquaculture and seafood businesses.
As stewards of a public resource, the team aims to protect the NT's aquatic resources whilst maximising social and economic benefits to the local community. This is achieved through management actions that consider and provide opportunities and benefits for the Aboriginal, commercial, recreational and fishing tourism sectors.
As Senior Director, Aquatic Resources, you will provide strategic leadership that bridges science and public policy in the management of complex, multi-sector fisheries. You will oversee NT Fisheries' licensing, management, and research functions, building strong local, national, and international partnerships to drive performance and innovation.
You will lead the development and implementation of operational frameworks that ensure effective compliance, high-quality service delivery, and agile responses to evolving industry and environmental needs.
To succeed, you will be an accomplished executive with a proven record of guiding regulatory organisations through complex and politically sensitive challenges. You excel at turning strategic goals into streamlined workflows, effective processes, and measurable results. Your leadership style fosters collaboration, innovation, and accountability, and with the proven ability to manage resources within budget while achieving high-impact outcomes.
