Position Summary
In this role, you will help shape the way we deliver hydraulic systems across a wide range of marine projects. You'll develop and document standardised hydraulic design methods that support safe, reliable performance and align with class society rules, shipyard standards, and specific project needs. Your work will ensure our hydraulic solutions are not only technically robust but also practical for real-world marine environments.
You will be responsible for designing and routing hydraulic piping systems that support onboard equipment and control systems, making sure layouts are efficient, accessible, and optimised for limited space and weight.
In addition, you'll produce detailed drawings and documentation for pipe penetrations, foundations, supports, and brackets—providing the essential technical detail needed for successful installation and integration.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare technical drawings and documents as required.
Ensure all required inputs and outputs are understood prior to undertaking a set task.
Ensure it complies with statutory and regulatory specifications and all other relevant project specific requirements.
Conduct peer review of drawings and documents.
Support the development, implementation and review of design processes and procedures to improve the efficiency and quality of service delivery.
Establish good working relationships with shipyard personnel.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience drafting or designing hydraulic systems.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with trades, design engineers, management, suppliers, etc.
Train, mentor and develop others.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders during the design process to ensure a cohesive design with other systems in the space.
