Doctors on Playford & Doctors at Westlands Medical Practice has a very strong chronic disease management focus and we are looking for a committed and enthusiastic registered or enrolled nurse to join our team. We are seeking a professional and cheerful applicant to compliment the duties of our current practice nurse for a full time position.
Job tasks and responsibilities
This clinic is a very fast paced environment. We are looking for a Registered or Enrolled nurse who is versatile and experienced, with a happy and helpful disposition, willing to turn to any task.
The position we are offering is currently full time position.
You will be responsible for the provision of a professional and efficient medical service, whilst providing the best quality of care for our patients. The Medical Centres is fully computerised and as such the successful candidate will require solid computer skills.

Reporting to the Practice Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of services including but not limited to:
Skills and experience
* Sound knowledge of the Immunisation schedule & cold chain management
* Dressings and wound care
* Facilitate the Chronic Disease Management Plans and Health Assessments
* Experience in using Medical Director
* Treatment room management
* GP support & assisting in minor surgical procedures
* Patient triage
* ECG & Spirometry
* Management of the patient recall and reminder system
* Monitoring & maintaining clinical stock levels
* General medical administrative duties (assist front counter)
Other important requirements are
* Registered with current unrestricted registration with AHPRA
* The ability to work unsupervised / supervised
* The ability to liaise with GP's and Allied Health Professionals
* The ability to multi-task and problem solveCommon tasks practice nurses are responsible for:
Working within a team and Independently.
Helping with patient assessments, including updating the patient file, taking measurements and vital signs
Sending Recalls and reminders for prevention activities or bringing patients back into the clinic for review or to discuss test results with the doctors
Helping with stock control and ordering supplies
Assisting with Immunisations which can be part of the national immunisation program or even travel vaccines in some clinics
Providing wound care services
Assisting GPs with small procedures
Helping to coordinate patient referrals with other providers
Providing patient education on a range of different topics
Supporting patients with chronic disease management usually by helping create management plans and monitoring progress towards their health goals
Help the practice with the different accreditation activities
Be involved in clinical discussions and contribute ideas towards improving the quality of practice services.
