We are seeking a proactive, relationship-focused Supply and Procurement Manager to lead and improve procurement initiatives across North Eastern Community Hospital. In this role, you will shape procurement strategy, streamline supply chain processes, and deliver best-practice solutions that support high-quality patient care. You will work collaboratively with clinical and operational teams, build strong supplier partnerships, and achieve strong commercial outcomes through effective negotiation and continuous improvement.
About the Role
This full-time, 12-month fixed-term role, with the potential to become permanent, offers an exciting opportunity to lead procurement and supply chain activities across the hospital. You will be responsible for reviewing and implementing procurement policies, analysing stock usage, and driving process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
Working closely with clinical teams, you will support product standardisation, manage approved supplier relationships, and provide data-driven insights to support informed decision-making. Your work will directly contribute to operational excellence and exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and negotiate product ordering and supply chain arrangements to deliver value for money.
* Identify opportunities to reduce duplication and align departments to best-practice procurement and ordering processes.
* Review, develop, and implement procurement policies to ensure compliance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct robust analysis of stock ordering and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
* Develop, maintain, and manage an Approved Product List (APL) for routine purchases.
* Partner with clinical teams to achieve consensus on standardised product selections.
* Establish and manage relationships with approved suppliers, including contract negotiation and delivery terms.
* Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses and clinical equivalency reports to support strategic decision-making.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong commercial acumen, a collaborative approach, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
You will have:
* Prior experience in the medical or healthcare sector is essential.
* Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with experience streamlining procurement processes.
* Category management experience with strong analytical skills to identify savings and performance opportunities.
* High proficiency in Microsoft 365, including advanced Excel skills.
* Experience working with ERP systems (any platform).
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Procurement, Business, or a health‑related discipline.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship management skills.
