About PsychExchange
PsychExchange is a small, modern psychology clinicbased in Concord, in Sydney's Inner West. Close to cafés and restaurants in Concordvillage, we provide assessment and treatment for children, adolescents, adults,couples and families dealing with a range of mental health needs. At PsychExchange, we place an emphasis on evidence-based treatmentapproaches known to improve psychological wellbeing and functional outcomes(e.g., CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, DBT, Narrative Therapy etc). Ourpractice currently includes 1 Clinical Psychologist, 2 Registered Psychologistsand reception support. About the Role
We are looking for apsychologist with experience and an interest in working with young people(children and adolescents), their families and schools. This role will involvedelivering evidence-based assessment/ treatment for children and young peoplepresenting with a range of psychological needs (e.g, anxiety, low mood,neurodivergence, disordered eating, gender and identity, school refusal,self-esteem, body image and social dysfunction). We value clinicians withexperience/willingness to provide parenting support as well as liaising withlocal schools and GP's to enhance client outcomes. We also offer group-basedinterventions targeting child anxiety, social skills and emotional regulationtechniques. There is opportunity to facilitate the running of these treatmentprograms.
While not essential,it would be a benefit if the candidate has experience in delivering neuropsychometricassessments and writing reports for the purpose of assessment and diagnosis(e.g., IQ testing, neurodivergence, giftedness, learning difficulties etc). In addition to working with children/youth, awillingness to also see adult populations (where there is a need) is a benefit.Regular supervision is available from our clinical psychologist and clinicdirector, Dr Cristina Cacciotti Saija.
This role is ideal fora clinician who has part-time availability and/or is looking for a privatepractice role that would compliment their other employment (e.g., Schoolcounsellor, NSW area health psychologist etc) due to flexible hours includingdaytime and/or afternoons.
Duties andResponsibilities
* Providingpsychological intervention for children, adolescents and parenting support
* Liaisingwith parents, schools and multidisciplinary teams where required
* Deliveringassessment and treatment predominantly face-to-face (with some telehealthwhere required).
* Psychometrictesting and report writing (e.g, IQ, Neurodiversity (e.g., ASD, ADHD),learning difficulties etc) across age groups (NOT ESSENITAL)
* Providingpsychological intervention for adults experiencing a range of mentalhealth challenges (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma, emotionaldysregulation, disordered eating, work stress, adjustment difficulties,grief and loss).
* Efficient and upto date record keeping including session notes, reports and GP/referrercorrespondence letters.
* Fullyregistered as a Clinical Psychologist, Educational and DevelopmentalPsychologist or a Registered Psychologist with AHPRA
* IndividualABN and Professional Indemnity/Combined Malpractice Insurance
* Ability to workindependently
* Availabilityduring and after school hours
* NationalPolice Clearance
* Workingwith Childrens Check
