What You'll Be Doing
The Community Mental Health Clinician provides recovery-focused clinical services including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison and review for children and young people presenting with symptoms of mental illness, distress and/or risk issues.
Selection Criteria
* Tertiary Qualifications and current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist OR tertiary qualifications for Social Worker, Counsellor or Welfare Officer with eligibility for membership for relevant professional association.
* Demonstrated experience in the provision of contemporary clinical Child and Adolescent Mental Health practice including conducting mental health assessments and the provision of evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents and their families/carers who are experiencing mental illness.
* Demonstrated understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
* Understanding of the concept and principles of mental health rehabilitation and recovery with experience and skills using a collaborative, strengths-based approach to the care of mental health consumers.
* Demonstrated high-level communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, their families and carers and other stakeholders, and a high level of computer literacy.
* Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to travel as required. This may involve driving long distances.
