Purchasing Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated Purchasing Officer to join our team at Harvey Norman Commercial.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to build rapport quickly, and possess experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics. Intermediate to advanced skills in Word and Excel are also required.

The successful candidate will support the Inventory Manager, Commercial Manager, Director, and external clients effectively, share information with Account Managers, Sales Coordinators, and warehouse staff, and purchase stock from various suppliers to meet deadlines and maintain stock levels.

This role focuses heavily on customer service, administration, and organizational skills, and requires strong attention to detail, high-level written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.


Key Responsibilities:

* Support the Inventory Manager, Commercial Manager, Director, and external clients effectively
* Share information with Account Managers, Sales Coordinators, and warehouse staff to manage vendor accounts effectively and in compliance with Harvey Norman systems
* Purchase stock from various suppliers to meet deadlines and maintain stock levels
* Organize stock call-ups in line with customer project schedules
* Obtain the best pricing using various resources
* Review backorders and follow up on delivery times with suppliers daily
* Inform relevant departments of back orders and due dates
* Respond to internal and external queries regarding purchases to assist customers
* Address and resolve purchasing discrepancies
* Maintain accurate purchasing records and provide feedback to management
* Participate in biannual stocktakes


About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
* Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics (preferred)
* Intermediate to advanced skills in Word and Excel
* Strong attention to detail
* High-level written and verbal communication skills
