Step into a key Risk Manager role within a major federal government program, where you'll own the project risk landscape, uplift the quality of risk and RAID artefacts, and confidently advise senior executives on exposure, controls and mitigation strategies in a complex Defence environment.
Location: Canberra, ACT Contract Duration: ASAP start to 30 June ****, with 12-month extension option Security Clearance Requirement: NV1 security clearance Key Responsibilities (Essential Tasks) Lead project and capability risk management, ensuring risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies are clearly captured, owned and actively managed across programs Review, refine and maintain high-quality risk and RAID registers, improving clarity of causes, impacts, controls and treatments for senior decision-makers Develop and deliver risk reporting, dashboards and briefing packs for governance forums and senior executives, clearly articulating trends and recommendations Identify systemic and security-related risks within the One Defence Capability System, recommending evidence-based improvements to governance and frameworks Key Skills Experience (Key Criteria) Proven experience as a Risk Manager/Risk Lead on complex programs, including hands-on management of project risks, issues, RAID items and interdependencies Strong background uplifting the quality of risk artefacts (policies, procedures, reports, RAID logs, templates, briefings) in line with frameworks and legislation Highly confident communicator who can "hold their own" in meetings with SES and senior military stakeholders, providing clear, concise and influential advice Strong analytical and data skills, including experience developing performance metrics, dashboards and reporting against key risk indicators and priorities How to Apply Does this role sound perfect for you?
