The opportunity
As a Compliance Officer, you will deliver professional compliance and investigatory services that support Council's statutory obligations and community expectations. This role is suited to an experienced investigator who can manage complex complaints, conduct evidence-based investigations and apply regulatory frameworks fairly and consistently.
* This is a permanent full-time opportunity – working 35 hours per week, with access to a flexible working arrangement
* Base Salary Range: $77,355 – $91,003 pa based on 35 hours + 12% superannuation + $19,364 motor vehicle allowance + $2,464 retention allowance
* You will be working from Councils Administration Building

* Conduct complex compliance investigations, including complaint assessment, evidence gathering, interviews and report preparation
* Investigate alleged breaches of legislation and approvals, including unauthorised development, land use, vegetation works and swimming pool compliance
* Undertake regulatory action, including issuing notices and orders, preparing briefs of evidence and supporting court proceedings

* Tertiary qualifications in Government Investigations, Planning, Environmental Health, Environmental Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
* Demonstrated experience in a compliance or investigatory role, including complex investigations and regulatory enforcement
* Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory processes
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including investigation reporting and stakeholder engagement
