**The Role**
We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join our Project Approvals and McR ESG teams.
This is a fast-paced role, as the team advises clients from the mining renewable energy industries and on project approvals, project delivery, and regulatory advice.
Your authors will navigate complex issues faced by prospective and existing project owners, including land access, native title, cultural heritage, environmental, land rehabilitation, carbon regime and access to water issues. The team also advises Traditional Owners across Australia - from the Torres Strait to the Pilbara desert.
In addition to the above, you will also have the opportunity to support in our new diversified business - McR ESG. This is an exciting opportunity to assist in the growth of, and work to, support our clients to form policies and strategically respond to the changing environment, with the ultimate goal to unlock opportunities and create value.
Across these practice areas, this role will be providing support to three partners, as well as the wider Project Approvals and McR ESG team, and tasks will include the following key responsibilities:
- Secretarial support for general administrative tasks;
- Proactive diary management and meeting coordination;
- Proactive management of monthly client reporting and billing;
- Coordination of travel arrangements;
- File opening and file management;
- Working collaboratively with other legal assistants across the firm; and
- Other general administrative tasks such as taking phone calls and sending mail.
**Experience**
- Ability to exercise initiative;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external parties;
- Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team;
- Ability to work effectively with the other senior Legal Assistants in the teams; and
