Blackwater State High School is a school that leverages its commitment to Individual Student Achievement to provide outstanding education to the secondary school students in the Blackwater Community.
At Blackwater High the dedication to academic excellence and vocational achievement goes hand in hand with individual care for each student.
As students progress through the six years of secondary education, we will strive to have each one of them achieve the ideal of this motto.
They will be progressively expected to assume more responsibility for their own achievement and to learn to be more self-reliant in reaching set goals.
Blackwater State High School is located in Central Queensland, in the heart of the Bowen Basin.
The township of Blackwater is around a two-hour drive west of Rockhampton and just over a two-hour drive south of Moranbah, making it well-connected to larger regional centres while still offering the supportive feel of a close-knit community.
The school is dedicated to fostering both academic excellence and vocational achievement, while also nurturing the personal growth and independence of its students across six years of secondary education.
