Join to apply for the Senior Psychologist/Senior Social Worker role at Queensland Police Service1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Senior Psychologist/Senior Social Worker role at Queensland Police ServiceGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.The Senior Psychologist/Senior Social Worker is a member of a team of experienced health professionals who provide services to enhance both individual and organisational wellbeing and reduce the risk of psychological health and wellbeing interventions and the provision of guidance in the unique operational environment of policing (note: positions available across the State), OR the State Emergency Service and Marine Rescue Qld (note: currently only Brisbane-based positions).The Senior Psychologist/Senior Social Worker is a member of a team of experienced health professionals who provide services to enhance both individual and organisational wellbeing and reduce the risk of psychological health and wellbeing interventions and the provision of guidance in the unique operational environment of policing (note: positions available across the State), OR the State Emergency Service and Marine Rescue Qld (note: currently only Brisbane-based positions)Your Key AccountabilitiesThe core capability requirements for this role are:Provide professional, confidential evidence-based short-term mental health services to employees as well as information and referral options and supplementary services as required.Provide professional advice to regional managers about the assessment, treatment, and workplace rehabilitation of individuals and work groups.Provide professional advice to all QPS employees as necessary on mental health, critical incident and stress management programs.Assist in the design, development and delivery of service-wide proactive mental health programs and provide education and training to employees and managers on preventing and managing mental health issues.Lead the provision of Psychological First Aid (PFA) in accordance with servicewide policy; promote the benefits of utilising PFA principles; and coordinate the provision of PFA support services.Select, train, develop, support, review and manage the Region/Command/Division's Peer Support Officers.Actively participate in the 24-hour on-call emergency response service roster, respond to after hours on-call incidents as required and provide an appropriate psychological/organisational response, which may include attending a location to support members.Maintain professional case notes in accordance with relevant professional codes of ethics, ensuring appropriate and secure storage of these materials.
