Based in Melbourne, Australia, we're now closing in on 200 employees across the business, with a growing team of designers and engineers in the Hardware Design team.

**About the team**

The Hardware Design team is developing a suite of technologies to revolutionise the diagnosis and management of neurological conditions, with a special focus on epilepsy. Our mission is to deliver deep personalised clinical insights and advance patient experience with leading-edge technology.

Our technology consists of wearable devices, a cloud platform and machine learning systems. These systems are at the core of our at-home video-EEG-ECG monitoring and diagnostic service - the first of its kind. Seer has already made a big impact across Australia over the last four years and is now building for international expansion.

**About the role**

**In this role, you will**:

- Perform user and market research; document User Needs and Design Requirements.
- Create user journey maps that help visualise user needs and challenges.
- Idea exploration, concept ideation and sketching (paper and digital).
- CAD modelling for idea validation, rendering or prototyping.
- Create low fidelity prototypes for idea validation, including rapid prototype parts whether internal or outsourced.
- Support testing and validation of ideas and concepts.
- Use CAD tools to design parts for manufacture and create assemblies in 3D.
- Create renderings and visuals using Keyshot.
- Present or support other team members in presenting ideas to internal or external stakeholders.

**Your experience**:

- Tertiary qualification in Industrial Design, Product Design Engineering or equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years of working experience after graduation. Experience in a consulting environment will be highly regarded but not essential.
- Experience developing medical devices under ISO13485 is highly desirable.
- Experience creating visuals for communicating ideas using Photoshop, Sketchbook, Procreate or Keyshot.
- Experience with digital and print design tools such as Illustrator, InDesign or Figma.
- Experience creating low-fidelity mockups for idea validation and usability testing.
- Good understanding of the industrial design process and human centred design principles.
- Highly skilled in Solidworks modelling techniques, including surface modelling, tolerancing, assemblies and drawings.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, over-moulding, thermoforming, CNC milling, rapid-prototyping, etc.
- Understanding of material selection, CMF, properties and behaviours; in particular plastics and metals.
- Good knowledge of Google Docs, MS Office, Google Slides, Powerpoint, etc.
- Experience working with manufacturing suppliers in China or East Asia is desirable.
