About the Role
The Security Monitor (SM) plays a critical role in maintaining the security posture of restricted and controlled areas, ensuring the safety of personnel and infrastructure. Reporting to the Security Monitor Supervisor, the SM provides line-of-sight monitoring of uncleared personnel and ensures compliance with site security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor uncleared personnel to prevent unauthorized access or removal of sensitive materials.
* Enforce site regulations and communicate security procedures professionally.
* Operate handheld radio systems for effective communication.
* Respond to emergency events and maintain control of personnel.
* Complete incident and infraction reports accurately.
* Support other operational areas (e.g., custodial, food services, trades) as needed.
* Promote and maintain health and safety compliance.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Completion of Year 12
* Valid Driver's Licence (manual transmission)
* White Card (Construction Induction)
* Minimum 1 year of work experience
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work in extreme weather and physically demanding conditions
Desirable:
* Previous security experience
* Experience with handheld radio communications
* Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platform tickets
Security Clearance Requirement
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and retain a minimum of NV1 (Australian) or SECRET (U.S.) Department of Defence Security Clearance.
Additional Requirements
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
* Commitment to EHS and Quality standards
* Willingness to comply with all site procedures and policies
