Coexistence Queensland seeks applications from interested community members for multiple member positions for a term of up to three years. A separate role profile is available for the chairperson position, if interested.
Established as an independent statutory body under the Coexistence Queensland Act 2013, Coexistence Queensland promotes sustainable coexistence by fostering understanding, collaboration, and positive relationships among stakeholders.
We aim to bring stakeholders together to work collaboratively, resolve issues, and achieve balanced economic, environmental, and social outcomes.
The Board
The Coexistence Queensland Board consists of seven members, including a part-time Chair and up to six part-time members, appointed for three-year terms.
Under Section 9A of the Act, the Board includes members with expertise in:
* The resources industry;
* The renewable energy industry;
* Science related to resource activities or environmental impacts;
* Legal practice relevant to resource or energy industries;
* Negotiations between landholders and resource or energy industries;
* The agricultural industry;
* Land management and valuation;
* Community development;
* The financial and business sectors.

Key Responsibilities
As a Board member, your duties include:
* Guiding Coexistence Queensland to meet its strategic objectives;
* Participating in six annual Board meetings and governance forums;
* Overseeing standards, legislation, policies, and procedures;
* Engaging with community leaders and forums;
* Participating in site visits and field activities;
* Representing and engaging with community, industry, and stakeholders;
* Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
