ACCOUNTANT
Warren Shire Council is searching for an energetic, capable, and self-driven Accountant to lead our day-to-day finance and administration operations and drive a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and efficiency.
As a contributing member of our Management Executive (Manex), you’ll collaborate with dedicated staff, Council Committees, and Councillors to shape long-term positive outcomes for the Warren Shire community. Your work will directly influence how we grow, plan, and deliver for our residents.
What You’ll Bring
Essential
1. Degree in Accounting or related field, with relevant experience
2. Experience managing budgets, accounting procedures, audit regulations, and knowledge of NSW Local Government legislation & Australian Accounting Standards
3. Robust understanding of FBT and GST
4. Current C Class Driver Licence
Desirable
- CA/CPA membership (or near completion)
- Knowledge of financial systems, frameworks, and continuous improvement processes
- Understanding of Local Government Accounting, especially Integrated Planning & Reporting
What We’re Offering
- Total Salary Package: $109,543 – $127,070, inclusive of superannuation (currently 12%)
- Housing: While no allowance/subsidy applies, Council will assist in locating suitable housing
