About the role:
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Gynaecology provides expert clinical consultancy to support the delivery of patient care within the gynaecology service at John Hunter hospital. On any given day, you will be providing expert advice to patients, carers and colleagues within gynaecology and women’s health; undertake ongoing reviews of clinical practice for the early pregnancy assessment services, nurse led gynaecology/colposcopy and general gynaecology services; contribute to the development and delivery of educational resources and programs for patients, their families and staff; as well as participating in district working parties such as Women’s Health and Maternity (WHAM) and Women’s Health & Gynaecology (WHAG) to represent our health service. You won’t be working alone. You will be supported by the Deputy Director of Nursing & Midwifery within the Maternity & Gynaecology department, as well as a large multidisciplinary team that is committed to delivering holistic, woman-centred care to our patients. A thorough orientation process will be provided as well as mentorship from your leadership team.

Requirements:
Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with APRHA, as well as at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in Gynaecology/ Women's Health. In addition, this role requires post graduate qualifications related to Gynaecology / Women's Health or nursing or evidence of working towards same.
