Security Officer Job Description
This position plays a critical role in safeguarding individuals, assets, information, and operations at the facility. The Security Officer will support all security-related matters, assist in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and plans, manage security clearances, and contribute to security education, induction, and compliance activities.
About the Role
Key responsibilities include acting as the initial point of contact for site security matters, supporting the development, application, and maintenance of security policies and procedures, managing personal security clearances, contributing to security education and awareness programs, and assisting with investigations into suspected or confirmed breaches.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the IT and Cyber Security teams, liaise with Defence and other security organisations as required, and support security accreditation processes and associated reporting.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Security Officer in Defence or Government is essential.
* A working knowledge of the DSPF or PSPF and ISM is required.
* Understanding of HB167:2006 - Security Risk Management is necessary.
* Experience with Communications Security is desirable.
* Completion of DISP Security Officer training is also desirable.
* Able to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
