About the role
We are seeking an experienced Chef/Cook to join our team at Southern Cross Campus Services' in Coffs Harbour, NSW. This is a Part Time or Casual role with a focus on preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced hospitality environment. As our Chef/Cook, you will be responsible for creating meals in a high paced environment as well as putting together sandwiches, wraps and other 'grab and go' items.
What you'll be doing
1. Preparing a variety of hot and cold meals, snacks, and desserts using fresh, seasonal ingredients
2. Ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation
3. Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
4. Collaborating with the wider team to develop new menu items and improve existing dishes
5. Assisting the Head Chef and ensuring the kitchen is always well prepared and organised.
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef/Cook in a commercial kitchen or hospitality setting
2. Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality meals consistently
3. Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations
4. Excellent time management and organisational skills
5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
6. Passion for creating delicious, nutritious meals
