We are seeking a diligent Sustainability Specialist to oversee environmental compliance, monitoring, and sustainability within our beef abattoir.
The ideal candidate will ensure operations align with all environmental regulations while driving initiatives in waste management, water conservation, and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and maintain accurate records for water, air, waste, and effluent systems.
* E nsure compliance with permits, licenses, and legislation; support audits and corrective actions.
* Develop and implement effective waste reduction and sustainability programs.
* Analyze and address environmental risks, investigate incidents, and implement solutions.
* Train and engage staff to promote a strong environmental culture.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Agriculture, Chemistry, or related field.
* Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and industrial compliance.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
* Ability to work on-site in a processing environment.
* Must have experience working in an abattoir or meat processing environment.
