We have an
exciting opportunity to join our Nyaal Banyul (Geelong Convention and Event Centre) as a
Sales & Planning Manager
. The role is responsible for performing sales activities to achieve sales targets and planning the details of each event.
Our Sales and Planning team members provide customers with an experience that exceeds their expectations throughout their journey with Nyaal Banyul.
As a member of the Sales team the role may occasionally require the incumbent to work outside of normal working hours in response to business needs.
About the Role:
* You will contribute to initiatives to achieve and exceed team budget targets, whilst achieving your own individual revenue targets.
* Sales & Planning Managers are required to build a strong pipeline of business, including new business via proactive sales.
* Work in tandem with the AV Sales and Planning Manager to action all sales enquiries.
* Maintain strong product knowledge across all offerings of the venue to be able to make recommendations that benefit the customer and the business.
* Contribute to and participate in a range of sales strategies and activities, including but not limited to sales calls, trade shows, networking events and other relationship building activities.
* Effectively manage and further develop a portfolio of accounts across a wide cross section of market segments to retain and increase business and revenue.
* Prepare, present and follow up proposals in a timely manner, ensuring they align with customer and business needs, and maximise conversion.
* Partner with customers to ensure the seamless, coordinated, timely communication of event information and venue requirements.
* Conduct site inspections, pre-conference meetings and event debriefs.
* Prepare event orders, floor plans and other written information in detail as required for each allocated event.
About you:
* Tertiary qualification in tourism, hospitality, business or related discipline
* Proven experience in Sales Manager or Planning Manager role in the events industry
* Exceptional skills in presentation, communication and negotiating
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in time sensitive situations
* A successful track record in interpreting and delivering client expectations and needs
* Intermediate computer literacy with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with EBMS
