The Opportunity
Reporting to the State Manager, the Transport Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the transport operations ensuring safety, compliance, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
This role is best suited for someone who demonstrates skills necessary to manage complex fleet management, leads teams and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Leadership and commitment to the safety of all people affected by our operations
* Delivering exceptional cost‐effective customer service including managing the customer/client interface
* Liaising with internal & external senior management and stakeholders
* Leading, Managing and Motivating your team for optimal outcomes
* Overseeing various transport operations - Interstate Road & Rail and local distribution.
* Process Improvement & Change Management applications
* Financial cost control, P&L ownership, analysis, KPI measurements and reporting
* Experience handling HR related matters at first contact, including ER/IR matters
* A sound understanding of Chain of Responsibility, WHS / OHS, NHVL and heavy vehicle regulations and obligations.
Success Profile
* Relevant and proven experience in a senior transport/logistics leadership role or similar level.
* Demonstrated experience as an inspirational leader who has a highly developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills including effective engagement, negotiation and influencing ability.
