Key Position Summary:
Senior Mining Engineer
We are currently seeking a Senior Mining Engineer responsible for developing medium to long term mine designs and schedules. The ideal candidate will be experienced in mine scheduling and design, along with associated tasks.
About the Role:
This key position is responsible for developing relationships with stakeholders to maximise operational productivity and equipment utilisation in schedules. They will prepare and communicate site physicals for annual budget and monthly forecast processes. Additionally, they will provide rolling medium term forecasts and budgets for the operation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to optimise production output and resource allocation
• Prepare detailed site physicals for annual budget and monthly forecasting processes
• Provide regular forecasts and budgets for operational management
• Collaborate with technical services, maintenance and mine operations personnel on deliverables for medium/long term schedules
• Assist and mentor junior members of the technical services team as required
• Ensure all designs/schedules comply with relevant safety, statutory requirements, and legislation
• Actively identify hazards and incidents
• Participate in investigations as required
Requirements:
• Experience in a similar role, preferably within the resources sector
• Demonstrated experience as a Mining Engineer is essential
• Significant site experience in mine scheduling and design, along with associated tasks
• Competent user of Vulcan, Deswik, Spry
• Proven ability to contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and environmentally friendly workplace
