What we are looking for
UNICEF Australia's Assistant Accountant will support our financial operations by managing accounts payable, receivable, and banking functions.
Working closely with our Financial Controller, you will help ensure our financial transactions are timely, accurate, and contribute to deliver positive change for children and communities across Australia and beyond.
Your day will include
Managing accounts payable, including EFT and international payments, corporate credit cards, staff expense claims, travel allowances, supplier agreements, and renewals.
Coordinating accounts receivable, including Change for Good Program invoices.
Performing bank reconciliations for all AUD accounts, processing bank transfers and deposits, cheques banking, workplace giving uploads, refunds, chargebacks, and reconciling payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).
Assisting with preparation of supporting documentation for annual audit queries.
Monitoring the Accounts Mailbox and maintaining master data.
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in finance or accounting
Proven experience of complex reconciliation work
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, and experience using Microsoft 365 apps
Studying or working towards accounting accreditation (CA or CPA)
Experience using Sage Intacct or Salesforce ERP/CRM systems
Experience with CoPilot, or AI tools
Knowledge of humanitarian aid or charity sector, or fundraising legislation
