The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Pump Fitter to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to contribute their expertise to a growing and reputable organisation based in Yarrawonga - Northern Territory.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine job requirements.
* Fit, assemble, and install machinery and equipment, including pumps, motors, conveyors, and other mechanical components.
* Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Safety & Compliance
* Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.
* Identify potential hazards and proactively implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
* Work closely with team members and other trades to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.
* Report progress, issues, and equipment status to supervisors and relevant stakeholders promptly.
Required Skills and Experience
Education / Certificates
* Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting and Machining or Diesel Fitting)
* Valid High Risk Work Licence (desirable)
* White Card (Construction Induction Safety Certificate)
* Current Australian Driver's Licence (manual preferred)
* Forklift and/or EWP Licence (advantageous)
* Confined Space and Working at Heights (preferred but not essential)
Experience & Knowledge
* Minimum 2–5 years' experience in mechanical fitting, specifically with pump systems and dewatering equipment
* Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in pump maintenance, overhauls, and repairs (submersible, centrifugal, diaphragm, etc.)
* Diagnosing faults and conducting preventative maintenance
* Pipework installations and fluid transfer systems
* Experience working in mining, civil, or industrial environments preferred
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals
* Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
* Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is a plus
* Safety-focused with a strong understanding of WHS procedures and regulations
* Able to work both independently and in a team environment under minimal supervision
