Overview
Working for Paspaley you would be expected to reside in Broome, Australia and work on a casual basis; There are two farms, both operating on a 2-weeks-on, 1-week-off roster. One is land-based, where employees live in their own accommodation in Broome and travel to and from work each day. The other requires employees to live on board a mother vessel for the full two-week working period.
Applicants must be flexible with either role.
Responsibilities
The Pearl Farm Deckhand role involves shell cleaning and includes the removal of marine growth, general shell care, husbandry of the shell and maintenance of the associated infrastructure. Although all training will be provided, having previous sea-going experience and/or marine qualifications and knowledge will be considered an advantage.
Qualifications
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have confirmed work rights in Australia including Working Holiday Makers.
* Have a consistent working history in a manual labor, marine or agricultural environment.
* Have a satisfactory police clearance.
* Have the ability to work in a team orientated environment.
* Have experience working in remote areas and locations.
* Have the experience or ability to work at sea.
