Overview
As a Food Services Officer, you’ll be part of a dedicated team that supports the health and wellbeing of patients and staff across Tasmania’s public hospitals and health facilities. The team ensures the safe preparation, handling, and delivery of nutritious meals that meet diverse dietary and clinical needs, with a focus on hygiene, efficiency, and teamwork to support patient care and recovery in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, portion, and deliver meals to patients, staff, and visitors in a healthcare setting.
- Ensure meals meet dietary, nutritional, and hygiene standards and support patient recovery and wellbeing.
- Work as part of a collaborative team, maintain food safety protocols, operate kitchen equipment, and uphold a clean and efficient food service environment.
You will need
- Knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced, team-oriented environment
- Good communication and time management skills
Details of appointment
Multiple permanent part-time positions, working 30 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant. This selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies for up to twelve months from publication.
Salary and perks
Salary: $57,130 to $62,486 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary packaging and benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 plus $2,650 in meal entertainment per FBT year, among other eligibility benefits.
