About the Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to lead the evolution of Australias national marine data infrastructure supporting world-class ocean research through cutting-edge cloud technologies.
As Infrastructure Product Owner for the Australian Ocean Data Network (AODN) you will combine leadership with hands-on cloud engineering expertise guiding a skilled agile team to deliver and maintain a secure scalable AWS-based platform.
Your leadership will shape solutions to how researchers government agencies and industry partners access and use ocean data to inform science policy and innovation.
The role spans product ownership and technical implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) CI / CD pipelines and cloud-based solutions.
This is a pivotal career-defining role at the intersection of technology and science – offering the chance to pair technical depth with product vision in a nationally significant research environment.

Whats Required
Proven technical leadership with the ability to mentor team members and effectively transfer knowledge.
Experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master including agile planning prioritisation and delivery of cloud-based solutions with strong stakeholder engagement.
Significant experience in architecting and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS or an equivalent cloud platform.
Experience developing and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC) and continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI / CD).
Advanced technical skills in system administration computer networking and scripting using Bash Python or other scripting languages.
Highly developed technical problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex problems and provide solutions.
A detail-oriented and highly organised individual with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Previous experience with AODN infrastructure management will be highly regarded.
Salary
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $152,033 comprising base salary within the range of $114,282 to $129,943 plus 17% superannuation.
