Our client specialises in the supply and manufacture of mechanical components with extensive expertise in heavy and precision engineering, Defence, in-service support, and rail industries. They are looking for multiple Mechanical Fitters to join their workshop-based team.

Job Details
* Monday to Thursday 6am – 2:30pm, Friday 6am – 12:30pm
* Pay: $52/hr + Super plus $35 per day travel allowance
* Immediate start for the right person
About the Role:
This position is heavily focused on mechanical fitting (approximately 90% of the role). You will be actively working in the workshop, moving between jobs, dismantling and assembling equipment and carrying out repairs and maintenance on heavy machinery. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working on heavy mechanical equipment rather than bench-based tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform mechanical fitting, assembly, disassembly and repair of heavy mechanical equipment
* Work with hydraulic systems and components
* Diagnose faults and carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance
* Safely operate workshop equipment including overhead cranes
* Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with WHS standards
Requirements:
* Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
* Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting/Engineering, Fitter & Turner, or Toolmaker
* Strong hands-on experience in mechanical fitting, particularly with heavy equipment
* Solid knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical systems
* Experience working in an active workshop environment (not bench-based)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
