We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our growing team.
This role is critical to our business success, providing accurate cost assessments and competitive pricing for our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects from architectural plans and specifications
Analyse project requirements, drawings, and specifications to determine scope of work
Source and obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
Prepare tender submissions and bid documentation within specified deadlines
Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and potential challenges
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of material costs, labor rates, and market conditions
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to clarify project requirements
Review and evaluate subcontractor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
Maintain organized records of estimates, quotes, and correspondence
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator in residential and commercial construction
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel essential)
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of Australian building codes and standards
Desired Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field
Experience with estimating software such as Buildsoft, Estimating Link, or similar
Understanding of South Australian building regulations
