TasPorts is seeking motivated and customer-focused individuals to join our State-wide Security Operations Centre in Launceston as Security Operations Officers. This full-time position forms part of a 24/7 operation and offers a varied and dynamic role within a critical area of the business.
As a Security Operations Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring security systems, managing access control, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements under the TasPorts Maritime Security Plan as well as State and Federal legislation. The role requires a high level of situational awareness and the ability to remain focused while responding to operational demands across multiple locations with varying requirements.
The successful candidate will bring strong customer service experience and well-developed interpersonal skills, together with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Well-developed computer skills and a high standard of written communication are essential, with report writing experience considered highly desirable. The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders is critical to success in this role.
Applicants with a background in compliance, customer service centres, security or emergency operations centres will be well suited to the position. Previous experience in the maritime or aviation industry will also be highly regarded. A Tasmanian Security Employee Licence (Cert II) is a requirement, while a Monitoring Room Operator qualification would be advantageous. This role offers a 12 hour shift on a rotating roster, with weekend and public holidays included.
