The Medicare Mental Health Services offer free support to anyone experiencing psychological distress. These services are available without an appointment, referral or Medicare card. In Tasmania, we have centres in Devonport, Burnie and Outer Hobart, providing co-funded support by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments. Our goal is to provide a streamlined approach to better mental health and social wellbeing across the country.

Role Overview
As a member of our multidisciplinary team, the Intake and Assessment Clinician will:
1. Undertake triaging/intake of new referrals to the service;
2. Provide high standard mental health assessments, involving case formulations, risk assessments, and the development and coordination of recovery care plans;
3. Provision of evidence-based therapeutic interventions (individual and group programs);
4. Collaborative consultation with consumers, their families/significant others and relevant service systems to respond appropriately to assessed mental health needs at the individual and community level;
5. Ongoing liaison and linkage with internal and external service systems regarding the mental health needs of consumers of the service, and of the wider community;
6. Active participation in service enhancement activities and initiatives, including participation in activities/requirements associated with the evaluation of interventions, programs and of the wider service.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Provisional/General AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, full AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse OR Tertiary level education in Social Work with registration or eligibility with AASW (In lieu of tertiary qualifications candidates with considerable demonstrable experience in similar roles may be considered).
* Knowledge and experience in the provision of clinical mental health assessment and evidence-based interventions.
* Demonstrated computer skills and ability to maintain clinical records; provide statistical data and reports to management as required.
* Positive, solution-focused attitude with commitment to positively participate in service improvement activities and personal clinical growth.
* Sound understanding of the public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs and associated non-mental health programs in a community setting.
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with people who have or are at risk of developing a mental illness.
* Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as a member of a team.
* Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
* Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC.
* Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance.
