You will take ownership of design tasks across all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial concept development through to commissioning and maintenance, while ensuring full compliance with Safety in Design principles, legislation, and Powerlink’s standards.You will lead the preparation of detailed design documentation, technical specifications, engineering reports, and procurement support materials. By providing expert technical advice to project teams and stakeholders, you will help shape innovative, cost-effective, and constructible solutions that meet project goals and regulatory requirements.In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal teams and external contractors, managing and supervising drafting activities to ensure deliverables are completed to the highest quality standards. You'll drive continuous improvement by applying technical intelligence, operational expertise, and creative problem-solving to every aspect of your work, while maintaining a strong focus on cost, timelines, and constructibility.You will proactively identify risks and hazards, championing initiatives that enhance safety performance and support a culture of Zero Harm. In all interactions, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service, promoting Powerlink’s values, and contributing to a high-performing, customer-focused team environment.The people you'll join:Based at our Virginia office, you'll join a highly skilled and collaborative Civil/Structural Design team that is passionate about delivering critical infrastructure to support Queensland’s energy future. Our team combines deep technical expertise with a strong focus on innovation, safety, and operational excellence. We work closely with project managers, engineers across multiple disciplines, and external partners to design and deliver complex, large-scale transmission and substation projects. Together, we take pride in delivering high-quality solutions that power communities and drive sustainable progress.What you'll bring:You will have experience in civil and structural infrastructure design, preferable in HV substations design and/or transmission lines.
