The opportunity
The Associate Director, Solution Architecture leads and develops a team of Solution Architects and Solution Designers, providing strategic direction, stakeholder leadership and architectural oversight to ensure technology solutions align with University priorities and enterprise architecture.
Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor a team of Solution Architects and Solution Designers across a broad portfolio of work.
* Set the strategic direction for solution architecture, including roadmaps, governance and continuous improvement.
* Partner with senior leaders, academic stakeholders and project teams to translate institutional needs into effective solution designs.
* Provide oversight of significant technical changes, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and aligned with ICT strategy.
* Drive cultural uplift, capability development and stronger ways of working across the architecture practice.
* Utilise and drive AI techniques within the architecture practice to drive best practice solutions and methodologies
* Oversee architectural risk, technical debt, policy compliance and technology evaluation activity.
Qualifications
* Experience leading architecture teams and building capability in a complex ICT environment.
* Strong people leadership, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to work across committees and senior forums.
* Broad solution architecture understanding combined with strong business and technical acumen.
* Demonstrated experience utilising AI techniques within architecture to improve processes and drive efficiencies
* The ability to lead change, challenge existing ways of working and lift performance in a mature architecture function.
* Experience developing strategy, roadmaps, governance approaches and standards for solution architecture.
* Backgrounds in software engineering, banking or other high-pressure enterprise environments will be well regarded.
