About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for nurses interested in exploring a career in Emergency Nursing. Whether you're looking to build foundational experience or pursue a longer-term career in ED, this role is your entry point.
You'll be fully supported by our dedicated ED Educators, comprehensive orientation program and professional development pathways—including the Emergency Department's Next Step Program and opportunities to progress into our ED Postgraduate Course.
Grampians Health's Ballarat Emergency Department services the Grampians region for all urgent medical needs. Our department includes 25 main beds, 3 resuscitation bays, a Paediatric Hub, 10 Ambulatory Care beds, and 8 Short Stay Unit beds. We pride ourselves on being a dynamic, supportive environment that invests in your growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality nursing care across various shifts including night duty
* Perform advanced patient assessments and escalate appropriately
* Apply sound clinical judgement and time management
* Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and staff
* Contribute to a positive, safe, and collaborative team culture
* Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities
Skills & Experience
* Current AHPRA Registration
* Experience in a medical and/or surgical ward (essential)
* Interest in Emergency Nursing and desire to upskill
* Postgraduate Critical Care qualifications or willingness to pursue
* Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical skills

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement The classification is Registered Nurse Grade 2 (YP2 - YP9) which ranges from $ $52.20 per hour.
