A leader in industrial manufacturing with a strong history in WA is now seeking an expert Logistics Procurement specialist to join its expanding team. As business is growing, they are looking to engage an operational subject-matter expert who can strategise, improve upon, and execute optimal Logistics category plans in order to leverage supplier relationships and economies of scale within local and international movements.
Your new role
You will be responsible for supporting various business groups in all Logistics Procurement (rail, ocean, intermodal) related functions, including but not limited to supplier performance management, contracting, escalations for supplier or payment related issues and Procurement SOP compliance. As a leader, you will also be involved in projects pertaining to the value-add of the function, engaging with senior stakeholders on enhancement implementation, system / process design and change requests unique to each phase. You will also identify and recommend opportunities for Continuous Improvement, Data-driven Analytics and user education.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven track record in Logistics Procurement / Category Management roles across Heavy Equipment or O&G; industries, with measurable achievements in cost management around Dangerous Goods commodities
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation and analytical skills, managing expectations upwards and downwards, ideally with experience in lean environments.
- Able to showcase effective business case presentations, including risk management strategies, to key stakeholders eg: leadership, clients, 3rd party governance.
- Self-driven with a leadership mindset, a sense of urgency
- Energetic working style with familiarity with Excel, Oracle or SAP (MM Module and others) and e-Procurement systems
