Flight Options (Australia) is a diversified aviation business operating across medical retrieval, corporate charter, advanced flight training, simulator services, aviation maintenance and a supporting asset portfolio.
We are seeking a full-time finance leader to manage all aspects of our financial operations and to support our expanding business, becoming a valued member of the team as the company moves forward and grows. The role reports directly to the Managing Director and includes functions relating to accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, human resources and payroll, legal and contracts, banking and finance for all related companies.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting
* Oversee day-to-day financial operations of the business
* Prepare monthly management reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analysis
* Monitor profitability across all revenue streams
* Manage payroll processing bi-monthly
* Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including inter-company recharges
* Liaise with external accountants, banks, insurance brokers, lessors and lessees, customers and suppliers.
* Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including FBT, BAS, PAYG, Superannuation, and payroll tax
* Continual evaluation and improvement of financial systems, processes, and internal controls
* Provide financial insights to support business decisions and growth
Human Resources
* Provide full-cycle HR services to all areas of the business, including recruitment, contracts, onboarding, reviews, conflict resolution, and terminations.
* Workers' compensation cover and claims
Compliance & Risk Management
* Ensure compliance with financial, employment, and regulatory requirements
* Manage and document contract negotiations and legal implications
* Support audits and regulatory reviews
* Manage confidentiality and data security
* Manage annual general and aviation insurance renewal process
Skills & Experience
* Ability to develop forward-looking data-driven reporting and decision support
* Exposure and interest in AI processes
* Proven experience in finance and staff management
* Proficiency with Xero accounting software
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products
* Strong knowledge of accounting, payroll, and financial reporting
* Experience across the full HR lifecycle
* Aviation industry experience highly regarded
* Strong communication and organisational skills
Qualifications
* CA/CPA with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
