ABOUT THE BRANCH

The COMCAR and Programs Branch is responsible for delivering high quality, secure and confidential car-with-driver and other ground transport services to high profile clients, such as the Governor-General and Prime Minister (both current and former), parliamentarians, members of the Federal Judiciary and other high office holders. Additionally, the Branch provides secretariat support to the Australian Political Exchange Council and administers two grant programs.

COMCAR provides ground transport and associated support services to visiting Guests of Government such as Royalty, Heads of State, Heads of Government and other foreign dignitaries. COMCAR frequently delivers services during major international events, such as the ASEAN Special Summit, Group of Twenty meetings (G20), the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and other Ministerial forums hosted in Australia. COMCAR has a national presence, with drivers located in each state and territory.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As a member of the Service Delivery and Business Improvement section, the APS 6 Systems and Data Manager is responsible the management of COMCAR's various IT systems. As a part of this duty the Systems and Data Manager is responsible for ensuring that COMCAR's SaaS products continue to implement security upgrades that comply with Australian government requirements and will take a lead role in the processes required for the renewal of Authority to Operate certificates for such systems. The role also involves the building, ownership and maintenance of various dashboards that are crucial for the delivery of COMCAR services and reporting.

Key duties/responsibilities of the role include:

Systems

* Maintaining security documentation for COMCAR's Automated resource System (CARS), a SaaS product that is COMCAR's online booking and dispatch system
* Taking a lead role in managing of the triannual renewal of the CARS Authority to Operate
* Leading approaches to market when replacing COMCAR's mobile devices
* Reviewing and documenting COMCAR BCPs and system SOPs
* Managing an APS5 Systems Administrator and support the day-to-day running of COMCAR's systems such as CARS, Touchpoint, Electronic Notice Boards and mobile devices.

Data

* Take the lead in the building of data solutions across the branch
* Ensure that currently used dashboards for reporting and service delivery are maintained and updated when required
* Ensure that data for key COMCAR KPIs is compiled according to stringent guidelines and is reported monthly
* Design and support the introduction of business improvements and efficiencies across COMCAR
* To investigate and undertake independent research to constantly seek new and better ways of delivering COMCAR data products.

This role is part of a COMCAR after hours on-call roster arrangement and is required to be on-call during rostered times. Remuneration for on-call arrangements is provided in line with the Department of Finance Enterprise Agreement Applicants must be able to meet the requirements of the on-call position in line with the Enterprise Agreement.
