Responsibilities
* Operate various cranes to company and manufacturers requirements
* Ensure the crane is operated within the manufacturers limits
* Maintain the crane daily by inspecting for defects or wear and lubricating as required
* Operate the crane safely and responsibly at all times
* Check the condition of the ground (e.g., building site) before setting up the crane
* Place the correct equipment under the outriggers (normally timber blocks, but can be steel plates depending on site conditions)
* Check that the crane is level on the outriggers before attempting to lift and place a load
* Be aware of how much material can be safely hoisted in each load according to the crane's capacity and weather conditions (e.g., high winds)
Qualifications
* Crane Operatives Ticket (National or State)
* Minimum of 1 year experience on a maintenance site
* Heavy vehicle licence for mobile cranes and hydraulic cranes, and heavy vehicle licence for crawlers (preferred but not essential)
* Able to perform duties maintaining high standards in Safety and Quality
