Job Overview
This high-level position serves as a senior advisor to government leaders, providing expert legal counsel and strategic guidance to drive national agricultural policy.
The successful candidate will lead the department's legal team, overseeing litigation, Freedom of Information, CDDA, and Privacy matters while fostering collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive legal advice and support to senior executives, Ministers, and other key officials
* Manage the department's legal portfolio, ensuring effective risk management and outcome-driven solutions
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners, promoting organizational objectives and values
* Promote a culture of excellence in legal services, upholding the General Counsel Charter and Statement of expectations for Australian Government lawyers
* Foster a collaborative work environment that supports the delivery of high-quality, timely legal services
