Physiotherapist - Neurosciences (Grade 4)

Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ specialist clinic appointments, 90,000+ emergency department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.
About the Role
This is a fixed‐term part‐time position to cover parental leave until May 2027 at 30.4 hours / 0.4 FTE per fortnight within the Physiotherapy Department. You will work within the neurosciences stream across neurosurgery and neuro‐oncology. Some changes in clinical area allocation may occur to achieve best fit. You will also job‐share the team leader role for the neurosciences team.
Responsibilities include:
* Lead high‐performing clinical teams and provide expert judgement and advice on clinical issues.
* Anticipate and broker resolution of conflict situations, maintaining balance among stakeholders and promoting respect.
* Articulate and embody the purpose and values of RCH.
* Lead and contribute to improvement in department management, strategic direction, and service planning.
* Delegate healthcare activity to others according to competence and scope of practice to ensure appropriate workload management.
* Develop and foster a lifelong learning culture and support grade 1, 2 and 3 physiotherapists in developing professional goals through clinical support, supervision and performance reviews.
Your skills and experience
* Hold a Physiotherapy degree and be registered to practice as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA.
* Have extensive specialised knowledge in physiotherapy within the neurosciences team.
* At least ten years of paediatric clinical experience.
* Demonstrated experience in the leadership and management of a clinical physiotherapy team.
* Demonstrated experience in the education and supervision of physiotherapists.
Other requirements
* Current National Criminal Record Check, or willingness to obtain one.
* Valid Working with Children Check.
* Compliance with RCH's "Staff Immunisation – Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedure.
