Who we are

The ECU Health Service assists students, staff and the university community with their health care needs. The primary function of the service is to provide our students with accessible and affordable health care for the duration of their studies.

Where we are

Located within the Wellbeing Precinct on the ECU Joondalup Campus, our AGPAL accredited, purpose built general practice is on the same floor as the free student psychological services, the Living Room (a peer led support and guidance service), with a coffee shop and free reserved GP and NP parking close by.

What your day will look like

At the beginning of each semester, we see an influx of new students, and in particular current nursing students seeking to complete their vaccine records for their course. To assist in this, our nurse led clinics streamline our appointment book, saving GP and NP time.

An average day for a NP will include general health and wellbeing advice, vaccinations, sexual health screening and contraception advice, dietary advice, chronic disease management, mental health care and walk-in urgent illness or injury on campus. We are also equipped for cryotherapy, surgical removal of lesions and iron infusions.

Students are routinely charged the rebate fee or bulk billed, and staff and other non-students are charged private rates.

Contract arrangements

NPs and GPs are engaged as Licensees on a Practice Licence & Support Services Agreement, with a generous Service Fee of 15% and are not employees of ECU.
This position will commence in 2026.
