The Opportunity
As part of our diverse team based in Melbourne, you will help make a positive impact on someone's life every day. You will feel great satisfaction knowing your talent and hard work has a purpose. As a Clinical Advisor, you will act as a subject‐matter expert in workplace injury management practices, supporting claims employees to design and implement effective return‐to‐work, return‐to‐life, and recovery strategies, while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. This will be a full‐time, permanent position based in the Melbourne office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Your Responsibilities
* Support claims professionals in delivering exceptional customer outcomes through strategic guidance and clinical insight.
* Triaging, reviewing and assessing complex treatment and surgery requests in line with legislation, clinical framework, and Worksafe policy.
* Advising on complex treatment plans and claims strategies, and resolving barriers to recovery.
* Proactive collaboration with treating health practitioners to oversee injury management, recovery, and rehabilitation.
* Driving professional development and continuous improvement initiatives across the claims teams.
* Reviewing claim files, recommending risk mitigation strategies, and partnering with leaders to meet performance business goals.
* Ensuring optimal business performance and compliance through audits and proactive reviews.
About You
* Allied health qualifications (e.g., occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nursing, psychology, social work, exercise science) with a strategic mind and a deep understanding of injury management.
* Strong knowledge of clinical practice guidelines, relevant policies and legislation.
* Proven experience managing complex injuries, including mental health, serious physical trauma, and fatalities.
* Experience in insurance or workers compensation highly desirable.
* Mental health first aid certification advantageous.
