Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

Responsibilities

As an Assistant in Nursing (AIN), you will:

* Provide direct care to patients in an acute care setting under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Midwives, in accordance with individual nursing care plans.
* Assist with patient care interventions within your scope of practice.
* Contribute to the collection of accurate health information and ensure documentation is maintained to a high standard.
* Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other members of the healthcare team, adhering to appropriate protocols and professional standards.

What You Will Bring To The Role

* Currently enrolled at university as a 2nd year undergraduate student nurse (1st semester).
* Ability to organise and prioritise work and provide a person-centred approach to patient care.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Previous experience working in an acute care setting.
* Ability to work a flexible roster.
* Demonstrated evidence of complying with Immunisation Category A.
