Black Cat prides itself on delivering value for money for its clients and sharing its success with its people.The OpportunityDue to the continued growth of the business, Black Cat Civil is seeking expressions of interest for an experienced environmental professional to join our team, with a key focus on the development and support of our HSEQ systems working within a highly skilled projects team in the Northern Territory.The successful applicant will provide advice, guidance and support to our Gove operations to support the site-based leadership team. This role is offered as a FIFO from Cairns or Darwin to site working a 2 and 1 roster.ResponsibilitiesImplement the Environmental Management System (EMS), including planning and audits, and providing environmental training.Prepare reports and work plans, perform site investigations, and collect, process and evaluate environmental data, establish project needs and monitor work in progress to ensure adherence to environmental requirements.Review and interpret permits, assessments and other environmental documents, as well as develop management plans and undertake regular inspections to monitor compliance.Provide accurate advice to project teams on the application of the EMS and Australian environmental legislation, standards, regulations, policies and best practice environmental design and management within projects.Contribute to the improvement of the EMS.Conduct regular site compliance inspections for flora & fauna spotting, water and dust monitoring.Essential Skills and AttributesDegree qualified in Environmental Engineering or Science.Knowledge of environmental legislation, regulatory compliance, and strong accuracy to report on environmental requirements.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in erosion and sediment control implementation.Well-developed communication skills both verbally and written.Ability to problem solve and be adaptable on site.Strong relationship building skills at all levels and able to gain credibility quickly and effectively with an ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.Computer literacy, particularly experience working with MS Excel and MS Word.Highly effective planning, organising and problem-solving skills.Commitment to working a FIFO 2/1 Roster.Graduates may be considered for this role.What we offerWork within a supportive and high performing team.Competitive remuneration and benefits.A culture that values innovation and collaboration.Our CultureBlack Cat Civil is a tight-knit team, led by our 2 owners Jai and Brendan.
