Job Opportunity: Heavy Diesel Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to support our regional operations. This role will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Downer's owned plant used by local teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Technician / Fitter or Equivalent (essential)
* Exposure across Road Transport, Civil Construction, Mining or similar sectors
* Strong fault-finding skills and breakdown support
* Exposure to scheduling maintenance over large geographically dispersed areas
* Timely and quality decision making, working effectively under tight deadlines and pressure

Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake regular vehicle inspections and maintenance activities to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and operating efficiently
* Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment
* Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives, ensuring seamless service delivery and promoting equipment availability
